What is your target market? What does your ideal customer look like?
Before you launch a sales or marketing campaign, you should define the profile of your target market and ideal customer. This profile will be the “window” to HOW your potential customers buy, and WHAT devises or channels they use most to INFLUENCE their purchasing decisions. Once you know this, you can implement an effective integrated marketing strategy that undoubtedly will increase sales.
If your customer has a smart phone or a computer (desktop, laptop, or tablet) like most do, it is highly likely that they will research product and service information prior to purchase. In fact, not only will they surf the Internet through any number of channels and social media platforms, but depending on the item they may end up purchasing it without ever setting foot through your door!
So in order to develop an effective sales and marketing strategy, you need to know who your target customer is. That includes their demographic profile and buying behaviors. You also need to understand AND anticipate their needs. When you do this, and have an integrated marketing strategy leveraging multiple channels and social platforms, you have the greatest probability to increase sales and maximize your marketing investment.
